LHM: Love the characters, hate the canon.

THANK YOU, not the least for making Haven a real place, and not simply an imaginary location that sprouts Heralds like dandelions. I LOVE your city description, and YES Vanyel is not the only gay man in Haven, although it sometimes seems that way. I appreciate and admire what you did with the drag; it's not necessarily something I imagined Van doing-- I tend to picture him as far too reserved and hesitant about his sexuality for that-- but you played it well and brought all those necessary character traits into the picture. Really impressive. One of the things I always want to read more of is Stefen finding out all these quirks of younger Van, who is so different than the major hero/totally reserved/too busy for tea Van of Price.
