Oh lawl, that metaphore. iirc, in the Withen/Van confrontation scene in E&O, after I proofread it, I thought it was way too melodramatic, bordering on camp, but then I reread the canon version and realized there war no way I could make it more over the top than it originally was. I don't know if she had made enough of a name for herself by then that no one wanted to correct her--although given the typos and punctuation issues, I think it was probably shoddy editing more than anything.
